No one knows what you're thinking until...

HI!

These past two weeks have been lovely! Sometimes I wonder "am I'm doing much with my time?" and my answer has come to something like this "why yes...why yes I am!" lol I'm relaxing and I'm pulling myself together again and I feel great. Of course there are some morning when I'd flip over from my sleep and wonder what to do, but then I just take the ball and roll with it. So far I've continued working on the script for my webcomic, I've started weaving a blanket for my sister's baby, I've started crocheting a vest (it a floral Cami http://www.allfreecrochet.com/Tops/Floral-Cami/ml/1/?utm_source=ppl-newsletter&utm_medium=email&utm_campaign=hookedoncrochet20140626 and I'm not sure if I"m doing it correctly lol), I've continued reading the books I got from the library and...well I thought there was something else lol I don't remember the last one. But overall I'm happy :) and that's what I've been doing these past two weeks. Those are new things I'm doing so it's pretty nice.

Anyway, I've started revisiting the website I use to visit before my previous quarter began. It's a website for upcoming and amateur webcomic-ist.....lol anyway, it's for artist to post their own original webcomics. I really like this website because the artist are able to express  their own creativity and unique-ness.

I have a bunch saved to my favorite folder :P I often study from them as well. I'll look at them and see what works well and what doesn't in my opinion and then I'd try to avoid those things when working on my script and webcomic.

Well, I started watching a video by one of the comic artist. She posted it on one of her pages and wow does she seem to make an impression lol She'll say something such as "i'm dumb" or something and I would think "I didn't think so!"

Which finally brings me to today's topic, saying something that will give someone the complete opposite impression of what you want.

Most people may do this as a force of habit. I've learned to try to avoid this. For example, if you do a drawing or a painting and you start pointing out the flaws, most people wouldn't have even realized it exist or would've thought it was done purposely. I've learned to just chuckle if someone catches it and I'll say "It's an illusion" or "you're mind is playing trick on you, there's nothing there!" as a joke.

If you make a mistake, don't be to hard on yourself.

No one knows what you're thinking until after you say something. Be mindful of the impression you're going to send to others. I actually know that I'm quite modest, and compliments makes me feel embarrassed, but a the same time, they aren't bad. I've learned to take it as someone who's appreciating your work or something about you. To them it's something lovely even if you don't feel the same way. Why shoot down what they like? It's like saying "no, you're opinion/words are wrong" lol don't do that!

:) So learn with me. As an artist it should be good to get recognition for our hard work. It means we're sharing something special with someone. Say thank you and move on. :)

  1. I knew my flaws with sewing and it was my sister who helped me think of it differently by telling me a dress I made, as a teen, was beautiful ... when I could see all the flaws and she couldn't. :)

    1. D'aww that's beautiful :) We often see flaws in ourselves (or things) that others don't. Makes me understand why beautiful is in the eye of the beholder.
